About the film
The Bridge is a dark fantasy short. A barbarian arrives at a bridge, a ghoul bars the way, and the toll isn’t gold. The price is a story — the tale of the axe the barbarian carries, and the warrior who forged its owner into a weapon.
This is a complete remake of the 2025 original, which was built entirely on Google’s Veo-2. Same story, same bridge, rebuilt from the ground up on a 2026 pipeline — and a useful measure of how much has changed in the time between. The original is still up: The Bridge (2025).
How it was made
Written and directed by Tim Simmons. Video generation ran on Seedance 2.5, with GPT Image 2 handling the image work and Midjourney supplying the initial character references and location plates. The shots were generated on Runway through its MCP tool, driven by OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra running in Codex — largely by voice, with Tim giving conversational directions and Astra turning them into structured prompts.
The first cut was made by hand in Adobe Premiere Pro. The finish in DaVinci Resolve — the color grade, a Dehancer film-grain pass, Fusion title cards, and the audio mix — was done by Astra, without Tim touching the mouse once. The whole production took about a day and a half, against roughly a week for the 2025 original.
